Does the online training count toward New Jersey’s in-service professional development training requirements?
Yes, NCADD’s training courses count toward New Jersey’s in-service professional development training requirement.
How many in-service training hours are required in the State of New Jersey?
New Jersey requires 100 hours of in-service training for every five-year period. More information on professional training requirements is located on the NJ Department of Education website.
How long will it take me to complete each course and how much does it count towards the NJ professional development requirement?
The amount of time that it takes each student to complete each course will vary based on a few factors, including the speed of the computer the student is using and the speed at which the student reads and absorbs the information presented. Usually, students complete each course in 1-2 hours.
I am a teacher in the state of New Jersey. Can I order NCADD’s classes separately for my own use or does my school district need to order the course for me?
At this time, you may not order the courses individually. The courses must be ordered by your school district for use by all educators and administrators within the district. If demand is significant enough, this feature may be added at a future date.
I am an educator, but I don’t live in New Jersey. Would these courses be beneficial to me? Do you offer courses for other states?
While the awareness training courses offered by NCADD of Middlesex County contain a lot of information that is useful to an educator living in any state, they do contain some New Jersey- specific information on state statutes and administrative code. Please contact our training partner, MindCross Training and Consulting, at training@mindCross.com to learn about what courses are available for other states or to discuss customizing the training for your state.
I am the training coordinator for my school district. What useful administration tools does NCADD’s Professional Development Training for Educators program provide for me?
NCADD’s Professional Development Training for Educators series provides several advantages for training coordinators and school administrators. Our courses provide “real time” tracking information, including who took a particular course and how much time each student spent on a course.
Administrators may also access the course evaluations completed by each student. In each course, quizzes are required to ensure that participants review and process the information that is presented in the course. At the end of each course, participants have the ability to print a certificate of completion, which they can then use for tracking purposes for their own files.
